Lovely decor and ambience - older building with older style lift - however doors are key card entry. Very well situated for me to drive about here and there and plenty of parking available on the grounds. Across the road from East Tennessee State University, but not too noisy or rowdy with uni crowds. Short drive to grocery store. Spacious room - a little on the dark side, but this is mostly due to the building being older and lots of dark wood. Bed and pillows comfortable. New model shower head with good hot water and good water pressure.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. My room was clean. The bathroom was huge and I loved the separate shower and tub. The bed was beyond comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food from the restaurant was delicious. I'm glad they had a small gym.

Clean and beautiful facility in a good location, especially if you have need to attend activities at ETSU. We very much enjoyed our stay. Good dining options near by if you want a day of relaxing at the hotel.

Property was impeccably clean, quiet and elegantly appointed with an abundance of areas to relax and enjoy. Housekeeping did an extraordinary job of daily tidying up as standard without request, a welcomed return to normalcy. Wellingtons, staff and food and beverages were top notch. I dined there 6/6 nights and sampled nearly everything on the menu and each item was better than the next. You could stay there for a month and barely scratch the surface of there exhaustive whiskey collection.

This hotel offers an upscale old world experience, that is simply lacking in the competition. For the past 3 years most of the hotel competitors still cling to safety narrative to justify the lack of housekeeping staff. Not here!!! The Carnegie offers superb daily housekeeping. As an extra bonus, they have a restaurant, which is headed by a Chef, that offers an incredible imaginative menu. The competition? Well you get the tired old breakfast buffets, and if you are lucky, a meager dinner offering. So ask yourself, why should you give your business to the Marriott or Hilton organizations instead of coming here?

Initially they had us booked in the wrong room but changed it immediately, room was large with large bathroom with a tub and separate shower.
